The Story
Jackson is a bright, curious, and energetic child who sees the world in his own special way. Jackson has a SYNGAP1-related disorder, Level 3 autism, and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. These conditions cause major developmental delays, limited verbal communication, and frequent, hard-to-control seizures, impacting every aspect of his daily life.
Jackson is always on the move, climbing, jumping, and seeking sensory play. Because he has little sense of danger and is skilled at opening doors or accessing unsafe places, his parents must supervise him closely at all times to keep him safe.
For this reason, safety is not optional; it is essential.
Jackson needs a bedroom designed for safety at every step. Planned features include secured windows with childproof locks, reinforced doors with alarms, padded walls and floors, and a safe sleeping area, such as a safety bed enclosure. Outlet covers, wall-mounted shelves, and hidden wiring will reduce risks. Sensory elements such as built-in climbing structures, a swing, activity panels, and soft lighting will create a safe, stimulating space for him to move and play.
This renovation will create more than a bedroom, it will be a safe, supportive space for Jackson to explore, play, and rest. The safety and sensory features will better protect him from injury and allow greater independent activity. This will lower his risk of accidents, ease caregivers’ routines, and improve his comfort and well-being. The new space will give his family peace of mind and support Jackson’s independence and quality of life.
This renovation will create more than just a bedroom, it will be a secure, therapeutic space where Jackson can explore, play, and rest safely.
With your support, we can build a space that keeps Jackson safe, supports his needs, and gives his family peace of mind.
